Blown and Cast Stretch Cling Films
Properties
Polybutene is typically used with linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) resins for cans and blown films, they:
- provide the required cling and tackiness
- exhibit good clarity
- improve durability
- KEMAT Polybutenes for LLDPE –
films are selected on their narrow molecular weight (MW) distribution to avoid non-controlled migration and to optimise the cling properties
End User Applications
- cans and blown films
- wrapping films (pallet wrap, silage wrap, stretch wrap) for packaging in the agricultural industry
- safety films used in automotive, furniture and construction materials
- cling films used in the food industry
KEMAT Polybutenes
KEMAT has researched and selected the best PIB on the market that can be used in the extrusion of a polyethylene film
- The effect of molecular weight on the migratory of the PIB,
used as an additive in this process, from the bulk to the surface, is the highest for the lower molecular weights
- The smallest molecules are those which migrate first in the Polyethylene (PE) films
In an uncontrolled way, they will influence the cling properties
- For the extrusion of cans and blown films,
KEMAT Polybutenes have very narrow MW distribution
- Due to this narrow MW distribution of KEMAT’s selected PIBs,
there is less migration of the lowest PIB molecules
- KEMAT offers approved food grade products
- Also, KEMAT Polybutenes have a very high and constant clarity
This makes them well appropriated for blown and cast stretch cling films
